Two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning is joining forces with Jameson Irish Whiskey for an up to $5 million nationwide bar tab. It’s the first — and likely not the last — football-shaped initiative from Jameson, which recently signed a multiyear agreement to become the Official Spirits Sponsor of the NFL.

The giveaway is running from now until Nov. 30, giving drinkers plenty of time to hit the bar before the end of the year. That said, there are a few important details that you’ll want to read up on before you order your next Irish Old Fashioned or Jameson Whiskey Sour.

In participating rebate states, consumers who order a cocktail or shot made with Jameson whiskey can upload their receipt online to receive up to $20 cash back via PayPal or Venmo. The rebate is limited to one drink per customer, so there’s no sense in ordering a couple of happy hour cocktails unless you’re willing to pay up for the second tipple.

The online receipt portal can be found here. If you’re interested in cashing in, be warned that the program excludes the following states: AZ, HI, IN, KY, LA, MD, MA, MS, NH, NC, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT and VA.

If you live in one of those states, fret not! Jameson has also launched a sweepstakes program that will run alongside the rebate, giving fans a chance to win $20 towards their next cocktail. As long as you’re 21 or older and live in one of the above-mentioned states, feel free to apply here.

“The spirit of fandom and community at a local bar on gameday is really unique,” Manning remarked in a news release. “I’m excited to partner with Jameson as they buy America’s Biggest Round, celebrating the die-hard fans who bring the passion every single week, make the trip to their local spot, and keep the gameday tradition alive.”

Manning is no stranger to the world of whiskey. The Louisiana native has joined forces with Kentucky’s Knob Creek for not one but two single-barrel bourbon releases, both of which we thought were excellent.

Jameson, however, is a whole other animal. While Knob Creek is stewarded by spirits giant Suntory Global Spirits, Jameson is owned and operated by Pernod Ricard, the French firm behind Absolut Vodka, Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet and Malibu.

“For generations, neighborhood bars have brought people together, turning strangers into friends and gamedays into lasting memories,” Colin Kavanagh, Chief Marketing Officer at Pernod Ricard North America, added. “As the Official Spirits Sponsor of the NFL, Jameson is pouring America’s Biggest Round with a $5 million bar tab to celebrate the fans who show up, raise a glass, and make gameday happen at their local spot.”

Jameson Distiller’s Batch Brings 5 Casks Together https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/jameson-distillers-batch-release/ https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/jameson-distillers-batch-release/#respond Tue, 11 Aug 2026 13:00:23 +0000 https://thedailypour.com/?p=154326 Jameson Distiller's Batch

Jameson is marking its 200th year of whiskey-making with a new entry in its Reserve Series: Distiller’s Batch, which the brand unveiled Tuesday and will roll out nationwide in September at a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Crafted by Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman at Midleton Distillery, Distiller’s Batch traces its roots to a mashbill handwritten by John Jameson II in 1826, a notebook still kept in the distillery’s archive. Jameson is emphasizing the Single Pot Still tradition for this release; it’s triple distilled in copper pot stills from a mix of malted and unmalted barley, a method unique to Irish whiskey and the style behind the earliest Jameson recipes.

“200 hundred years ago, one of the very first Jameson recipes were crafted in the Single Pot Still tradition — a legacy we discovered in a mashbill handwritten by John Jameson II in a pocket notebook dated 1826,” O’Gorman said in a news release. “Distiller’s Batch is our way of celebrating that origin story.”

The whiskey is aged in five types of casks: ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry, and new Irish, European and American oak. O’Gorman called combining that many cask types “a careful balancing act,” adding that each one “contributes something to the final whiskey.”

Jameson lists tasting notes of toasted oak, honeycomb, salted caramel and baking spice up front, moving into dark chocolate, spicy toffee, cinnamon, ginger and orange peel, with the combination of oaks bringing smoked-wood tones and delicate tannins alongside the whiskey’s signature silky texture.

Kristen Colonna, Vice President of Marketing at Jameson, framed the release as an extension of the brand’s history rather than a departure from it. “Jameson has been crafting Irish whiskey for over 200 years and Distiller’s Batch is our latest chapter,” she said, pointing to the whiskey’s spice, orchard fruit and dark chocolate finish alongside “the smoothness Jameson is known for.” She added that the release is meant for longtime Irish whiskey drinkers and newcomers alike, advising Jameson fans to pour it neat or use it to elevate a classic whiskey cocktail like a Manhattan.

Distiller’s Batch joins the Jameson Reserve Series, the brand’s series that focuses on cask finishes, aging techniques and flavor-driven expressions that sit above the standard lineup. It’s bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof) and is available for pre-sale here ahead of the full September rollout.

Jameson is bringing Irish whiskey to football’s biggest stage.

The world’s best-selling Irish whiskey announced on Wednesday that it has signed a multiyear agreement to become the Official Spirits Sponsor of the National Football League, giving the Pernod Ricard-owned brand a prominent presence across many of the league’s marquee events.

The deal includes sponsorship of major league events including the Super Bowl, NFL Draft and NFL International Games, with Jameson also becoming the Presenting Sponsor of the Super Bowl Tailgate Concert.

“American football brings people together through a shared passion for the game and the moments of connection that surround it,” Jennifer English, global brand VP of Jameson, said in a news release. “At Jameson, smoothness has always been more than what’s in the glass, it’s a way of bringing people together. From game-day traditions to gathering with friends, those moments of connection are at the heart of our brand.”

The partnership also includes global league marketing rights outside of Brazil and Mexico, allowing Jameson to activate around four NFL International Games each season. The NFL is scheduled to play a record nine international games across four continents this year.

The deal builds upon Jameson’s previous football-related activations, such as its campaign to bring pro football to Dublin — a dream that came true last season when  the Pittsburgh Steelers went up against the Minnesota Vikings. With this partnership, Jameson should be able to actually say “NFL” in its American football-related campaigns going forward, something the brand was careful to tiptoe around previously.

In addition to league-wide activations, Jameson said it plans to create fan experiences at the Super Bowl Experience, NFL Draft and other league events throughout the season.

The agreement also supports the expansion of Jameson’s existing relationships with several NFL franchises, including the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Planned activations include local fan events, sweepstakes and neighborhood promotions.

The NFL said the partnership aligns with its continued efforts to enhance fan engagement around the league’s biggest events.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Jameson into the NFL family as our Official Spirits Sponsor,” said Renie Anderson, the NFL’s executive vice president and chief revenue officer. “Jameson is a world-class brand known for bringing people together, making them the perfect partner to enrich our fan engagement.”

The collaboration will also extend across broadcast, digital and social media through content created in partnership with NFL Films.

Jameson said fans can expect additional details on sweepstakes, local events and game-day cocktail recipes throughout the upcoming NFL season.

8 Best Irish Whiskeys Under $100 to Sip This St. Patrick’s Day https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/8-best-irish-whiskeys-under-100-to-sip-this-st-patricks-day/ https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/8-best-irish-whiskeys-under-100-to-sip-this-st-patricks-day/#respond Tue, 17 Mar 2026 13:00:34 +0000 https://thedailypour.com/?p=143930 Irish whiskey as a category has exploded over the past decade, with new distilleries, unusual cask finishes and long-overlooked styles finally getting the attention they deserve. Whether you’re spending $25 or pushing toward $100, there’s a serious pour waiting for you.

This list was built using The Daily Pour Critics’ Score, our aggregate metric that pulls together house ratings and scores from the most trusted critics across the internet. All eight entries come in under $100, and they range from household names to under-the-radar gems worth tracking down for St. Patrick’s Day (or any other day, really!). Here’s how they stack up.

8. The Tyrconnell 10 Years Madeira Cask

The Tyrconnell 10 Years Madeira Cask

Check Out the Reviews

The Tyrconnell 10 Year Old Madeira Cask Single Malt Irish Whiskey is double-distilled by Kilbeggan which ages it for a full decade, finishing it in Madeira wine casks before bottling at 46% ABV. It sells for around $70-$80. The Madeira finishing amplifies the fruit without turning the whiskey into a candy shop. The nose leads with dried stone fruit and a honeyed richness, the palate delivers roasted nuts, beeswax and a citrus peel brightness that cuts through the sweetness, and the finish is long, warming and faintly tannic in a way that reminds you there’s a serious wine cask at work.

7. Teeling Single Pot Still

Teeling Single Pot Still

Check Out the Reviews

Teeling Single Pot Still is Dublin distilling done right. The mashbill splits evenly between malted and unmalted barley, which is the classic single pot still formula, and the result is bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration for around $50. That unmalted barley delivers the signature spicy, oily quality that makes pot still Irish whiskey unlike anything else in the world, and Teeling leans into it without apology. There’s green apple and fresh pear on the nose, a waxy, almost savory texture on the palate, and a finish that turns quietly spicy with white pepper and dried herbs. For a no-age-statement release at this price, the complexity here is hard to argue with.

6. Fercullen Falls Irish Whiskey

Fercullen Falls Irish Whiskey

Check Out the Reviews

Fercullen Falls Irish Whiskey kicks off this list as the most affordable on it. Powerscourt Distillery sits in Enniskerry, County Wicklow, and this 50/50 blend of single malt and grain whiskey, bottled at 43% ABV, is priced somewhere in the $25-$35 range. The malt component spends time in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels while the grain sees both ex-bourbon and new heavy char oak, and that combination produces something punchier and more textured than the price tag suggests. There’s a toasty vanilla sweetness up front, some orchard fruit in the middle and enough barrel char on the back end to keep things honest. At four years old, it has no business tasting this put-together.

5. Jameson Select Reserve

Jameson Select Reserve

Check Out the Reviews

Jameson Select Reserve is what happens when the world’s most recognizable Irish whiskey brand actually tries. This is a blend of 12-year pot still whiskey and 5-year grain whiskey aged in extra-charred bourbon barrels and sherry casks, bottled at 40% ABV and priced around $43. The extra age does real work here, pushing the profile into dark caramel and roasted nut territory that the standard Jameson never visits. The sherry casks add a dried fruit undercurrent without turning this into a dessert pour. It’s a step up in every direction from the flagship, and at this price, it’s a Jameson bottle truly worth buying.

4. Powers Irish Rye

Powers Irish Rye

Check Out the Reviews

Produced at the famed Midleton Distillery, Powers Irish Rye is made from rye grain grown at Cooney Furlong Farm in County Wexford, triple distilled and matured in a combination of virgin, first-fill and refill American oak casks. At 43.2% ABV and around $32, it brings the herbal, peppery backbone of rye into conversation with the lighter, creamier tendencies of Irish distilling, and the result is something that tastes like neither tradition fully won the argument (in the best possible way). Spicy grain, fresh herbs, a hint of coconut from the virgin oak and a finish that lingers with a dry, almost grassy bite. Rye fans who have never looked at an Irish whiskey should start here.

3. Writers’ Tears Double Oak

Writers' Tears Double Oak

Check Out the Reviews

Writers’ Tears Double Oak makes a compelling case for what happens when ex-cognac casks enter the Irish whiskey conversation. This blend of triple-distilled single pot still and Irish single malt is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-cognac barrels, then bottled at 46% ABV for around $65. The bourbon wood brings the expected vanilla and light toffee, but the cognac casks push the profile somewhere more interesting: stone fruit, dried apricot, a faint floral note that floats through the mid-palate like an afterthought that turns out to be the whole point. The finish is warm and long. This is a bottle that rewards patience; pour it, let it sit for a minute and let it open up.

2. Boann Pedro Ximenez Cask Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

Best Irish Whiskeys Under $100 Boann

(Photo: Boann)

Check Out the Reviews

Boann Distillery Pedro Ximenez Cask Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is PX sherry finishing done with real conviction. The mashbill includes malted and unmalted barley, oats and rye, which already makes it more interesting than most, and the whiskey spends time in Oloroso sherry hogsheads before moving into Pedro Ximenez butts from Malaga that sat in a solera system for 60 years. At 47% ABV and priced around $68, it opens with honey and raspberry on the nose, with brioche and praline underneath. The palate is where it gets genuinely compelling: syrupy fruit and almonds collide with pie crust and graham cracker, and a thread of tobacco runs through the whole thing like a slow burn. The finish balances walnuts, floral sherry and that same brioche note with the kind of precision that makes you reach for a second pour before the first one is finished.

1. Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey Marsala Cask

Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey Marsala Cask

Check Out the Reviews

Drumshanbo Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey Marsala Cask is the all the evidence you’ll need if you’ve ever had niche questions about Irish whiskey in Sicilian wine casks. The Shed Distillery matured this for seven years in Marsala casks, bottled it at 43% ABV and priced it around $78. The nose is immediately distinctive: orange zest, pecan pie, sticky dates and dried figs, with a background note of toffee pudding that feels almost edible. On the palate, wood spice takes the lead while the dried fruit from the nose follows close behind, all wrapped in a creamy, treacle-thick texture that coats without cloying. The finish is semi-sweet, with soft vanilla doing the closing work. The Marsala influence is unmistakable but never overbearing, and the underlying pot still character holds its own throughout. Seven years in those casks produced something that feels considerably more mature.

Eight bottles, all under $100, all worth your time. The Irish whiskey category has plenty of easy, crowd-pleasing options, but this list leans toward the bottles that actually have something to say. Pick one up before the holiday and pour it properly.

Jameson Irish Whiskey announced on Friday that it’s rolling out a new campaign tied to the first professional American football game in Ireland, which kicks off Sunday, Sept. 28, in Dublin.

The brand has declared itself the “Unofficial Whiskey for Football Fans” in connection with the event, which Jameson lobbied for and marks the first time professional American football has been played on Irish soil. The campaign, which began this week, will run through Nov. 2 across Jameson-owned channels and paid media.

As part of the launch, Jameson introduced the Jameson Football Flask, a regulation-sized football that doubles as a container for a 750-milliliter  bottle of whiskey. The flask, priced at $109.99 (with a bottle of Jameson included), will be available starting Thursday on ReserveBar.com while supplies last.

“Jameson has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the fans, and that’s why we are excited to declare ourselves the ‘Unofficial Whiskey for Football Fans’ this season and to finally celebrate American football in Dublin,” Valeria Catterini, senior brand director, Jameson at Pernod Ricard USA, said in a news release. “After two years, we can’t wait for fans to experience Irish hospitality firsthand as we toast to the game that the fans helped make happen.”

During the game, Jameson will host a viewing party and sampling experience in Minneapolis. Fans can RSVP here.

In Dublin, meanwhile, Jameson’s Bow Street Distillery will offer an American football merch pack to the first 100 people in American football gear on Sept. 27 and 28.

In addition, Jameson will partner with complex to release what it describes as “the first-ever limited-edition, football-inspired capsule collection.” The partnership will also deliver New York City-based “tailgating” events featuring cocktails, food, entertainment and exclusive merch. A Los Angeles event will also be held at a later date.

Finally, Jameson will be the first spirits brand to be promoted in a live commercial on ESPN’s “Sportscenter.”

The Irish Distillery That Makes Jameson and Redbreast Is Pausing Production — Here’s Why https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/jameson-irish-whiskey-distiller-pauses-production/ https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/jameson-irish-whiskey-distiller-pauses-production/#respond Mon, 10 Mar 2025 19:15:39 +0000 https://bottleraiders.com/?p=102773 Jameson

On Saturday, Irish Distillers announced that it will be pausing production at its Midleton Distillery from April until summer. The facility, the single largest distiller of Irish whiskey in the world, is responsible for recognizable brands including Jameson, Redbreast, Midleton Very Rare, Powers and Clontarf 1014.

The distillery typically closes its doors for one month a year; the current closure is expected to take at least three. Distillery owner Pernod Ricard says the closure is part of a “routine, periodic review.”

“This review demonstrates our ability to be agile with our production cycles and has been enabled through improved operational efficiency and state-of-the-art production facilities,” a spokeswoman for Irish Distillers said in a statement. “We remain fully committed to the production of Irish whiskey at Midleton Distillery and have communicated this adjustment to our staff, suppliers, customers and contractors to enable forward business planning.”

Why Is Irish Distillers Pausing Production for Such a Long Time?

There are several reasons why Irish Distillers may be shutting down production for longer than usual. The grounds are currently knee-deep in a $52.3 million expansion plan that hopes to make it Ireland’s first and largest carbon-neutral distillery by 2026. Included in its roadmap are renewable energy sources like green hydrogen and biogas, alongside a closed-loop capture system to compress and recycle heat waste generated in the distilling process.

Elsewhere, big-name distillers are temporarily halting production for a litany of reasons.

Last week, British firm Diageo announced that its carbon-neutral whiskey distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, will pause production and barrel filling until June. Best known for helping out with the production of Bulleit Bourbon, the 72,000-square-foot facility produces up to 10 million proof gallons of liquid per year without using fossil fuels. Diageo explains that Lebanon was closed because the distillery was “ahead of schedule” on efficiency and productivity goals.

Just a few weeks prior, the historic Glenglassaugh Distillery in Northeast Scotland announced a temporary closure of its own. According to distillery owner Brown Forman, the same behind Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whisky, the closure was spurred by a shared production model with Benriach Scotch that resulted in an “occasional silent season.”

Diageo, Brown Forman and Pernod Ricard have all been subject to industry headwinds over the past year. Amid a competitive atmosphere of trade tensions and declining sales, liquor conglomerates have taken to layoffs and closures as they brace for a fast-changing consumption landscape.

Irish Distillers, however, has faired well enough. The producer reportedly achieved +1% global net sales throughout 2024, buoyed by impressive growth in India (+52%) and China (+99%) thanks to Jameson.

Jameson Scores Multi-Year Major League Soccer Partnership https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/jameson-major-league-soccer/ https://thedailypour.com/whiskey/irish-whiskey/jameson-major-league-soccer/#respond Mon, 09 Dec 2024 18:48:01 +0000 https://bottleraiders.com/?p=94190 Jameson

Jameson announced on Thursday that the Irish whiskey brand scored a multi-year North American partnership with Major League Soccer as part of the brand’s “Must Be a Jameson” campaign. The Irish whiskey will be featured in broadcasts during soccer season and showcased during stadium-side gameday promotions.

“This league sponsorship is a first-of-its-kind partnership for Pernod Ricard North America and a tremendous opportunity for Jameson to continue connecting with the region’s deep-rooted and engaged sports culture,” Pernod Ricard North America Chairman and CEO of Conor McQuaid said in a news release. “Soccer is skyrocketing in North America, and the MLS community has some of the most energetic fans. We can all relate to that feeling of a shared connection and camaraderie and can’t think of a better partner to bring the warm and welcoming Jameson spirit to fans.”

Jameson announced it will sponsor game-day hospitality, and the whiskey brand’s supplier, Pernod Ricard, will introduce game-goers to other spirits within its portfolio. The Irish whiskey will also host “buzzworthy on-site experiences” during gameday.

Jameson will be the whiskey of six clubs: Chicago Fire FC, San Diego FC, Houston Dynamo FC, LA Galaxy, New York City FC, and Orlando City FC, according to the brand.

Jameson reported the MLS set records during its 29th season on Apple TV, reporting that the sport is more popular than ever.

Sports Business Journal reported earlier in 2024 that the growth of the sport is driven by a younger demographic with more diversity.

Soccer fans are usually a tech-savvy bunch, and Gen Z appears to be leading the charge. The outlet reported enthusiasm for the sport only grew with 2024’s Copa America, but it is expected to reach a fever pitch with the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“With a seemingly endless amount of sports content and programming available these days within seconds at your fingertips, you can’t argue with the data — everything from viewership to attendance, engagement and merchandise sales — that soccer is becoming immensely more popular in the United States, especially among Gen Z and Generation Alpha,” Isos Capital Founder and Co-CEO Michelle Wilson said, according to Sports Business Journal. “It’s time for brands, investors and organizations to continue to stoke this fire that is poised to turn into a roaring blaze with three major events on the horizon, including two occurring in our own backyard.”

Jameson Irish Whiskey appears to be paying attention and is putting its money where its mouth is, and MLS is grateful to have the popular whiskey brand’s support.

“During this significant period of growth for the sport of soccer, Major League Soccer is proud to partner with Pernod Ricard North America to showcase the Jameson brand,” MLS Deputy Commissioner and President of Soccer United Marketing Gary Stevenson said.

Jameson Irish Whiskey announced the launch of its global video campaign launch on Tuesday, featuring the talents of “Kraven The Hunter” actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The campaign is for Jameson Black Barrel, the brand’s premium whiskey expression.

The short film is titled “Jameson Black Barrel — the Greatest Story Almost Told” and is directed by five-time-Oscar-nominee Yorgos Lanthimos, known for projects like ‘The Favourite” and “Poor Things.”

The campaign follows Taylor-Johnson as he takes an adventure through a reimagined version of the distillery to discover the secrets behind each bottle. According to Jameson, as Taylor-Johnson tries to figure out the secrets behind Jameson Black Barrel, he learns that the secrets “aren’t written down” but exist in the minds of its creators.

“Well, I can tell you this — it’s the greatest whiskey I ever drank and the greatest story I never did tell,” Taylor-Johnson quips at the end of the campaign while raising a glass of Jameson to camera.

Jameson’s campaign additionally involves the talents of Oscar-winning set designer Shona Heath, and Heath was responsible for reimagining a “heightened” version of the Jameson distillery.

“When I visited the home of Jameson in Cork, Ireland, I was inspired by the genuine meticulousness to craft and process, as well as an allegiance to the company ethos,” Taylor-Johnson said in a news release. “From the Master Cooper to the Master Blender, I witnessed firsthand the collective passion to create and define the prestige of the Jameson Black Barrel product. The collaboration with Yorgos Lanthimos was exhilarating — working with such a visionary director to proudly uphold the legacy of a product I deeply admire.”

This campaign falls within the Irish whiskey brand’s “Must Be A Jameson” campaign, which launched in November 2023. The brand is known for collaborating with top-tier talent, and the inaugural campaign was narrated by none other than “Oppenheimer” actor Cillian Murphy. The initial spot was for Jameson’s flagship Irish whiskey, and the campaign featuring Taylor-Johnson is to promote the brand’s higher-tier expression.

“Jameson Black Barrel perfectly exemplifies our tradition of innovation in Irish whiskey making — it’s a whiskey that wouldn’t be possible without the expertise of our team and the generations before them,” Irish Distillers CEO Nodjame Fouad said in a statement. “We are excited to bring this exceptional whiskey and its sleek new look to life through our new campaign, featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, whose passion mirrors the spirit and craftsmanship of Jameson Black Barrel.”

Jameson Black Barrel is aged for up to 16 years in double-charred barrels, according to Jameson. The Irish whiskey brand claims it differs from regular Jameson in that it features a higher ratio of single-pot Irish whiskey blended with small-batch grain whiskey.

The campaign can be viewed below:

Jameson announced on Tuesday the release of Jameson Triple Triple Chestnut Edition. The brand shared that the launch will be staggered around the world and hit shelves in the U.S. and U.K. in early 2025. The triple-distilled whiskey was blended in a mixture of ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, with hand-chosen sweet chestnut casks. The whiskey hosts a suggested retail price of $29 and an ABV of 40%.

“At Jameson, we’ve known that good things come in threes ever since John Jameson introduced the world to triple-distilled Jameson Irish Whiskey,” Master Distiller Kevin O’Gorman said in a news release. “Jameson Triple Triple Chestnut Edition is no exception to this rule. Our single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys have been further enhanced through a combination of triple cask maturation to create an exciting new taste experience. Sweet Chestnut wood imparts rich notes of chocolate and fudge, adding a luxurious layer to Jameson whiskey’s much-loved character, making it an excellent new addition to the family.”

The whiskey was made at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland. Jameson says the addition of chestnut casks imbues the whiskey with toffee, toasted almonds and a rich cacao quality. This latest release marks the second whiskey within the brand’s Triple Triple series. The brand initially launched as a travel retail exclusive, and the inaugural expression was aged in a mixture of ex-Bourbon, Oloroso and Málaga wine casks.

In September, Jameson added to its “Touchdown in Dublin” campaign, an attempt to bring football to the Irish capital. The whiskey brand held a rally in New York City with Julian Edelman, the wide receiver for the Patriots.

The Irish whiskey brand launched a Jameson Touchdown in Dublin Bus, which is set to make stops across the country at tailgates to add a little fun during gameday.

On Friday, Jameson Irish Whiskey continued its “Touchdown in Dublin” campaign — which has a goal of bringing professional football to the Irish capital — with a rally in New York City led by former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.

At the rally, Jameson debuted the Jameson Touchdown in Dublin Bus, which will make stops at football tailgates across the country this fall to build support for the mission to bring a pro football game to Dublin.

“Dublin has some of the liveliest and passionate sports fans in the world,” Edelman said. “It’s time to try and bring a professional American football game there! I’m partnering with Jameson to bring back Jameson Touchdown in Dublin, our unofficial call for a regular season pro American football game to be played in Dublin. Because only a Jameson wouldn’t take no for an answer!”

According to Jameson, fans who visit the bus at tailgates will get to explore the bus, which is modeled after a pro football locker room. The bus will have a DJ, photo opportunities, games, swag, Jameson samples and “other surprises.”

The Jameson Touchdown in Dublin Bus will be at Tampa Bay on Oct. 21 for a Monday Night Football matchup and then in Las Vegas on Oct. 27.

If a regular season professional football game in Dublin is announced by April 1, Jameson will give away a Dublin trip to one fan (21 and older) and up to five friends. The giveaway will include flights to Dublin, three nights of hotel accommodations, a tour of the Jameson Distillery and a $3,000 gift card to be used toward buying tickets to the game.

The NFL plays games abroad each year, most commonly in London. At this point, the NFL has played games in London, Mexico, Germany and Brazil. Ireland, however, has yet to get a game.

“Professional American football continues to expand in more cities abroad, but a certain city with the best spirit and best fans still has not been awarded a game,” Pernod Ricard North America VP of Marketing Johan Radojewski said. “We think only a Jameson could try to get the powers-that-be to host a professional American football game in Ireland, so we’re cranking up the volume, inviting more people to join us — including football great Julian Edelman — and taking our unofficial call on the road.”

Last year, Jameson kicked off the campaign with a hand from former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
